I took the CFA today after school and these are the results.

Basketball throw: 60'
Pull ups: 11
Shuttle run: 9.7
Sit ups: 52 (I have done better)
Push ups: 45
Mile Run: 8:15 (ouch)

I spoke to my admissions counselor and he said that the mile run definitely DQed me. He said I will have a chance to take it again. How do the rest of my scores hold up against others? Is this the average at least? I will definitely keep working, but I am nervous now. I usually get a 7:20 mile but this time around I felt winded. Any advice and feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

As many previous "posters" have stated, make sure you practice taking the entire CFA in order at least once a week leading up to officially taking it. It is designed to test your endurance. The other piece of advice is to try and take it in the morning when you might be "fresher" (either before school or on the weekend). There isn't really any secret to the CFA other than putting in the time daily to train for it. Good luck.

I will keep training everyday. I will work harder on my endurance. I will also take your advice and take the whole test at least once a week, if not more. I took mine after school because the gym teachers will not give the test to me during school. I will see what I can do about the time though. Thank you for your feedback!

Practice the CFA in order of testing. Add on other exercises as you see fit, where you seem week. A slow mile run seems to me to be a problem of endurance (not practicing the events in order).

I agree. I have to get better endurance. I will also keep doing strength training to polish my skills. Thank you!

Learning proper form for the shuttle run and basketball throw would help those numbers more than you think. My shuttle went from an 8.9 to an 8.1 just from my gym teacher showing me the form for it. Do the sit ups and other ab workouts every day from now until a few days before your next test and that number will definitely improve.
I know how you feel about that mile, I got an 8:40 on the first practice CFA I took. I pretty much ran a mile every day starting a month before the test and was at least able to get it down to a 7:33. So that aspect is just running, especially after your workout to produce the same feel as the CFA mile.
Good luck

Thank you for the advice. You have a very inspiring story. I will run everyday after my workouts to try and bring down that time.
