Chance me?

Well - that is certainly their prerogative. My guess is that you are from a competitive area and they are trying to maximize noms.
You have good known stats (academics, leadership, CFA). We don't know about your SOEs and essays. Other factors - are you a female or underrepresented minority. Also, West Point would not have requested a waiver for you if you were not a competitive candidate.
You can get an appointment on just a Presidential. You only need one nom. If you don't get the appointment from the Presidential nom, then you can still get an appointment off the NWL as a an 'additional appointee' (which are chosen to fill out the class and not according to WCS).
Best wishes!

Thanks so much! I am a white male so no help there... Like all candidates, I believe I have very strong essays and letters of recommendation. I hope it works out and thank you for taking the time to respond!

Yup. Not fair. Competing with an moc Nom is better than presidential. They probably gave there Nom to someone that was not competitive.

Yes I have a friend of mine who received the nom and she was no where near as competitive as me. She was medically disqualified as well so doubly disappointing. But that is life! I will keep pushing and see what happens.

My regional commander said I am in the middle percentile roughly for presidential candidates... Looks like an appointment is a stretch at this point...

Hang in there..... Remember that's just his opinion. Your MOC interviews said you looked good for an appointment, right? It does sound as if you have had some tough luck in the process.....

+1 Letsdothis. It's not over 'til it's over. You still have a chance until you get a TWE. And even then, there's next year. Keep the faith...

Yeah the guy said he would bet his house that I receive an appointment... Doesn't mean much considering he didn't think I would need the nom. And do RCs not have a way to know where a candidate stacks up? Thank you for the encouragement!
