Sort of. Well truthfully I had a bunch, but I just want to see what is available upon graduation, how competitive slots are, and things like that.

That was really helpful. Would you happen to have the stats for different classes on what specific AFSC were chosen?

What's available and how competitive changes each year. Needs of the air force.

Christcorp is correct in that what the current classes get can change greatly in a couple of years. Here is the list from the classs of 2011 so it is already 2 years outdated (this was as of April of 2010).

Thanks for that post Stealth! Do you know if the break down between rated and non-rated slots is usually around 50:50?

Since the timeline for finding out your AFSC has changed since Raimius' class went through the AFA (cadets don't find out their AFSC now until the fall of their senior year), when do the cadet's put in their preferences and Form 94?

Are Unmanned vehicles, such as Preds & Global Hawk, included in the "pilot" category? Or are all 500 of the "pilot" slots for manned aircraft?

Just a heads up, the AF is getting rid of the Global hawk.

I don't know the answer to your question but there are two different types of pilots currently flying the RPA mission. There are formally trained pilots who were pulled from other aircraft and there are beta pilots that have been trained completely (except for initial flight training) on the RPA air frames. There has been some dispute about which is more effective.

Right now I think the AF is trying to push for more beta pilots, but I'm not sure how that plays into the AFA's AFSC selection process.

The breakdown is usually about half the class getting pilot slots, but it does vary. No one can say what it will be like in 4 years.

The 18 UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) slots in the chart were the first direct entry slots for pilots of the unmanned aircraft. (As Ramius said, 2010 didn't have any.) These pilots go directly to the UAS field and do not go through all of UPT as the manned pilots do. I believe that they do go to IFS, though. This number has grown, but I am not sure of the current number. There are still unmanned pilots pulled from the 500 pilot slots, but they do not get the unmanned assignment until they complete UPT.
