Class of 2015 - Mailbox Stalkers Club

No TWE or BFE in the mail here in Louisville, KY but it's still a good day.
 
TWE Received

March 28, 2011 Monday, my DS received his TWE today. FYI the letter states that only 1120 appointments going out for the class of 2015. For those of you still waiting to hear something best wishes and best of luck. Maybe he will get a Prep School offer in the mail. :thumb:

Congrats to those who got the BFE so far. Hallelujah!!!

I'm just anxious about telling DS when he gets home from school today...I think he will opt for AFROTC...but we will see...I will keep you all posted :)
On a happy note he started aerobatics last wk and will have his solo flight next wk...1 more month I believe and he will have his pilot license.
His instructor is a retired navy( I believe he was navy) pilot...and is teaching him the "military way".

So sorry for all that received the dreaded TWE today and congrats to all that received the BFE. I'm on pins and needles as DS is scheduled to arrive home around 1415 central time. Hoping for that phone call at 1416 with whoops and hollers, but I know the odds are against it. Trying to be ready for any eventuality.

Good luck Rebel, just read some of the other posts. There are lots of options out there and some of them may not be apparent yet. Please reach out if you have any questions.
 
My heart goes out to all the amazing candidates rcving the TWE. Just remember, It will all be ok in the end, if its not ok, its not the end!
All these kids have wonderful futures in store for them!

Rebel can you post the actual wording of the TWE letter? Your statement implies that Admissions will not be sending out 1300+ appointments in an effort to have a class size of 1120 and that instead only 1120 appointments were actually mailed.

YMG, keep those pilot logs.

As an AFROTC C 300 cadet they will take the TBAS for rated slots, and if they bring the log they get "extra credit points" added to their score. Trust me, we didn't know. DS didn't know and 1 week before the test I got the: "Mom can you go in my room and find my log" phone call.

DS went AFROTC, he got selected for UPT last month, Class of 2012.

Just called DS at home to check the mail....He is on spring break still this week because his school has 2 weeks off....He is ready for whatever is in the mail today! Hate to have it end when he is soooo close......:bang:
 
decision not mailed yet

I spoke with my ALO and he said that a decision has been made in my case but that they have not mailed it out yet. I dont know what that means and I'm not going to try to interpret it.

Sharing everyone's anxiety. Since this is the most popular thread (ad revenues through the roof!) I thought I would ask a question here.

DD has two noms. Online status under nomination status lists:

Status: Received

Nominators: Presidential

MOC Name


The order changed today, as for the last several weeks the MOC was listed first. This has changed one time previously but changed back after a couple of days. Is there any significance to this or is this a totally random event?

For those of you who have already rec'd the TWE: I'm sorry. If/when DS recieves the TWE, I will personally feel a kick in the gut. These kids are all so awesome...you don't want them to be rejected given all that they have accomplished. Gut kick.

For those of you still waiting, Purgatory continues. This is what Dante was talking about.
 
Hi All,

SMNE(Stalked Mail No Envelope...Hillarious acronym from previous pages). I did get a nice startle though.....I'm still active duty, and DS recieved an envelope from DOD. It was just a survey form for the physical he recieved. I thought we had the dreaded TWE, but we didn't. No BFE either. I'm in Louisianna so we're watching for one or the other.:wink:

I wouldn't think the ALO had advance notice of any decision being made yet? I could be wrong though. If so; I'm off to wine and dine DS's ALO.:biggrin:

He just pulled up my file and saw it. Wouldnt tell me the decision, just that one had been made.

SMNE. BFE from honors at option C, and TWE from reach #1 (I know, even more of a reach than USAFA). I. Am. Going. Crazy.

Talked with my dad about keeping it all in perspective, something I've kind of forgotten about I guess. Even if we don't/can't all get the BFEs we want, we all have great options B-Z, better than most of our national graduating class. But I still want that letter!
