Class of 2015 - Mailbox Stalkers Club

No worries, I am also from Spokane, Washington. I was worried that your district was somewhere near the Inland Northwest. Looks like they've sent our BFE's by truck again... and the wait continues.

Nothing in IL, either. My dad nearly gave me a heart attack when he walked into my room earlier and asked "do you want the good or the bad news first?" AHH my heart backflipped/frontflipped/somersaulted. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending) nothing from USAFA there...

NKPeterman: my DS is in the same boat here in GA. We'll keep our fingers crossed for you...here's to playing the waiting game! Best of luck to you!

DS got a call from MOC (Congressman) last Tues, and then a call from Senator tonight...We thought that was unusual to get calls from both. Senator said his BFE was mailed on Friday, but it did not come today. Just to be sure the mailman knew his responsibility, we put up the sign below (even though DS says this is over the top...)

Well, the picture didn't go in, but we put a sign on the mailbox that says
AIR FORCE ACADEMY
big fat envelope
goes here

with an arrow, and put balloons on the mailbox too!

The neighbors have called to see if it arrived today (it didn't).

Hey otter pop Im from Seattle washington third time applying with prep school and ROTC. I still have not heard back yet either. I called my congressman and Liaison and they said they hadn't heard anything yet too. For some reason Washington is taking a while I guess lol

Wow! There's absolutely no action here on the East Side of the Cascades. I bet there will be a huge wave tomorrow. We're usually pretty competitive (as a state) against the rest of the country. I doubt many TWEs are in the mail system towards Washington! Third Time's the charm!

Well, we have bad news. My son emailed his admissions counselor asking for status update and was told his TWE would go out tomorrow, and even though he was fully qualified candidate, they could not offer appointment due to limited slots, and to pursue other college options and retry next year. We need to regroup and rethink. I am very sad and heading home. I hope folks have better news this week!
TWA : you are one of the real gems of this thread. I'm so very sorry. Please keep moving forward. There are options that may yet present themselves, and I hope for you and your son the very best!

I sure hope not it just seems weird to me why they are taking so long to review washington. Then I see Spokane hasn't heard either it's weird hmmmm....

Oh dear friend...I know how you feel. May God show the right door for u all.
DS locked himself in the bedroom for a few hours but came out smiling we went out to eat Mexican and he is moving on...he said "God has a reason".
I'm proud of him
Keep cheearing!

Think positive

Well I just joined moments ago and all of the posts are very helpful. We are patiently waiting here in Oregon. I just have to stay we all need to remain positive no matter what the outcome because I know all of the applicants have great drive and determination and WILL achieve their personal goals no matter what the envelope arrives. I belive that my son is a better person just being considered. I just feel we all need to remind each other that these young future leaders have ALOT of potential to give to our country in ANY capacity.

YMG and Tailwind......I feel like I have known you since the beginning of time. I know with parents like you your DS's will rule their destiny. We have no "e" yet one way or the other, but I am prepared for anything and if we have done our job well, so is DS. I will update when we know and will stay active here to cheer on the appointees and to remain a friend to those who will excel elsewhere.

All,

I have truly enjoyed reading this thread and can understand all the emotions you have had as you wait and stalk. I am so sorry for those that received the TWE but as many have said it is not all over. I have posted before my DS's story but last year he received the TWE and was headed to Purdue Engineering when after choosing the dorm and starting to connect with others he received the Falcon Foundation letter. He had made his ALO aware of his interest in Falcon or Prep School but we thought it was a long shot. Therefore, we were not prepared when he received the letter. A decision is very quick so ask your DS/DD if this is an option for them. They look for an immediate response on your decision.

My DS chose the Falcon Foundation route and is now joining the 2015 Class. It was a great experiene for him as well as others on this site. I or many others would be happy to share our experience if you have questions or are faced with this opportunity. And of course flieger is always there and was a great help to us last year. Keep the faith that the right choice and guidance is there. Good Luck to all still waiting and Best wishes to everyone!

Congrats to you and son #2, Marciemi! Does this mean that he won't be wearing that USNA shirt and hat whenever I see him, now?

Stealth_81

Congrats Marciemi and to DS#2! I love the pic of the same mail lady as with DS#1. Just think this summer she will be bringing you those anticipated letters from BCT!

Thanks for all the congrats! Actually I think he's pretty set on NROTC at MIT at this point, but we go out next week for the "PreFrosh" weekend there and he'll make a final decision then. Told his brother he had tonight to try to convince him he wanted USAFA because he'll send in the form to decline the appointment tomorrow.

CONGRATS MARCIEMI--decisions decisions!

REPORTING FROM SOUTHERN OHIO: BFE arrived today to VVCFF :thumb:--she never got a call from Representative, and that was her only nom, so don't feel like its a bad sign if you haven't had a MOC phone call!

Congrats to the friend!!! That's great news! Although VVCFF took me a long time! (Very very close family friend? ).

My Daughter got a call from Senator Chambliss tonight as well. That was a nice surprise...and got her BFE today, so hopefully your son's will be there tomorrow

Reporting in from Northwestern Florida.

Nothing in the mail from the USAFA. But congrats to everyone with a BFE! And for those with a TWE, remember you've still got Falcon/Prep possibilities!

I hate that someone from Florida got a BFE today. But oh well, maybe it has to do with last names or something!

Good luck to everyone else!

And my acronym: SMNE
