Class of 2016-Mailbox Stalkers Club

While I'm happy for the people on this forum who have heard back, it can get really heartbreaking for the others who are still waiting or may have gotten the dreaded QNV letters. Last year the group stayed in touch till May and there were some very late appointments - even a couple of QNV candidates got late calls. So keep your spirits up, it isn't done until they report to I-Day and lots can happen before then.

Good Luck!

I sure appreciate your perspective. I was thinking the same thing: Until recently, most of us were stranded on the same little island. As more get "airlifted" off, each day gets a little more stressful for the ones who are left behind. Glad to have this thread and all the folks here to share the journey with. Wonder how others handle it without this kind of support??

Sweet, SoccerGirl! :thumb: Don't forget to update the appointment thread! :groupwave: Hope this is the start of good things to come for everyone posing here. Do you all think the MOCs have had this week to make the calls before the first big round of BFE's start rolling out next week??

Bad news and good news from our house... Bad news: SMNE. Good news: no TWE, either!

Keeping the faith!

Hi RaptorDad! My daughter got her call from her MOC last year during the last week of March and received her BFE the first week of April - FYI

:groupwave::groupwave::groupwave:
BIG Congrats to the newest Tilt, USMC, and Melinda! Be sure to update the appointment thread!

My DS just received a call from our Senator's office informing him that he has received an appointment. Good luck to all, it's a bumpy ride for sure.

Congratulations to your family!! You are right, keep holding on!!:thumb:

Congrats to all who have received good news!

I must clearly be coming down off the euphoria of the AFROTC scholarship news... I'm SOOO anxious!

Some days, i'm chill other days i'm pinging... what gives? Oh and it doesn't help that a BFE (white envelope with blue lettering, and red white blue stars from Tri-care Metlife was in the mail today)... my heart starting pounding, I thought surely, this can't be it... Well darn it! I was right... it wasn't it. I think this may have something to do with the amplitude of my mood.

My DS saw it too (while I was handing him the DODMERB mail that came in the mail today also)... he said "is that a BFE???" Eyes huge... I said, I wish and you think THIS would be my demeanor? LOL He doesn't realize with either a BFE or TWE I will be crying mess.

I for one am thankful for all the times this thread goes "off topic", we all need to catch a breather and think about something else.

I'm with Yorkiemom, I need a drink or two or five. Coconut Rum with Coke Zero is my poison... but I did get a nice bottle of Moscato at Trader Joe's last week while in Santa Fe. And there is a charity auction this weekend... with a "Tower of Booze" up for grabs... how'd they know I'd probably need it when they planned this event? Oh that's right, I've been at some of the auction committee meetings... LOL

So besides stalking the mailbox what have you all been up to?

And Profsparrow... I see you trying to liven up the USNA thread ---> YAWN - it's no fun over there. Go Goats! I mean Falcons! I mean Otto the Orange... I mean Banana Slugs. Oh man I found one way worse than that... but it's not for the faint of heart... a school in Rhode Island.... YIKES!

There's another school in our District that's made national news in the past, the Cuero Gobblers...:jaw:
Since it seems that most of the USNA BFE's have gone out already, maybe everybody
is out partying.

Congrats to all who have received good news!

So CristalLee, my theory is that it is 5:00 somewhere right? And by the way, which school in Rhode Island are you speaking about? I am from Rhode Island and my son's mascot is a Saint. Of course, he also goes to a Catholic school.

And I agree with you, going off topic makes things less stressful for all that are sitting on the edge of their seats!!!:bump8ls:

Of all days to be out running errands...wow, the forum has really lit up. Congratulations to Tilt, USMC, and Melinda and thank you Nathan for the great info. I am looking forward to my forum stalking for the rest of the day--hope to see a lot of our DS's and DD's getting phone calls tonight.

Oh that's a "special college" on the east side of Providence!!! I'm pretty sure none of our children applying to the SA's would be applying there. I'm not being judgemental, but it is a well known fact that the students there are a little different. I hope I am not offending anyone. I know that it takes all kinds to make the world go round.

Ok you definitely win, I fell for it and googled it! I only live about 3 miles away and I was unaware of their unofficial mascot! Quite comical though!!:bounce1:

"Curiosity killed the cat" - isn't that why we are all here? We're all very curious by nature... or we wouldn't care about what's in the mail.

Hi, lsredmond! Yes! We would like more of that, please!

BTW, awesome post about your DD's txt during Recognition. Our family was thinking about all the "fun" they were having--wondering if we'd be in those shoes someday. Guess we'll just have to wait and see! Stalking the mailbox, the portal, this thread, and the phone now...

Thanks for making me laugh out loud!!

DS was on the floor laughing!
Wow, they must have great teamwork at RISD! Wonder if they have Recognition Week? (how embarrassing to be the school mascot though . . . )
