Congratulation to your DS!:thumb: That's great news for all of you! I'm wondering if anyone can answer a question for me. USNA admissions is telling me that I should hear something by April 15th. I already know that my file was placed in a pool for NAPS or Foundation. If the admissions knows right now that I am not going to get an offer, will they wait until April 15th to send out a rejection letter? In other words, I haven't heard anyone say yet that they have received a thin white envelope from USNA. Do they purposefully hold out until mid April before they notify candidates even if they know the answer now? Hope I worded that right. Thanks for any input!

Of course we are still on vacation... So while sitting at IHOP - I logged on the AFROTC portal on my phone and see "Congratulations" - hand the phone to DS and start crying (tears of joy). Couldn't wait to find out what kind so now I have my neighbor checking my mail... Hope to find out soon!

I knew you were on vacation and that is why I posted this ASAP so you would see that we found out through the portal. CONGRATULATIONS to you are your DS too:smile:. I, too, have been shedding tears of joy (still am--I can't find the off switch). What colleges has your DS been accepted to?
 
Just posted on the Admissions Facebook site in response to a question of what percentage of appointments have already gone out.

"I can't give you an exact number seeing as how letters are currently being sent out. It is roughly around 35% and climbing. This is by no means an official number of any sort.

Well, no news on the academy front for me, but just found out I have received an AFROTC scholarship! No idea what type yet, but it's easier to breathe now that I know that I will have affordable options for a great education next year if I don't receive an academy appointment (or prep, or Falcon, etc.)

I highly doubt you will get a Prep or falcon as an AFROTC scholarship recipient. Prep exists as an academic foundation for the AFA.

Congrats on the scholarship, good luck on the AFA.
 
Just found out I received the ROTC scholarship as well!!! When I visited the Academy last week and talked with a counselor she said that my USAFA application was going to be at the boards this week (she said that's a good sign). So hopefully I'll hear very soon!
 
I also received an ROTC scholarship! I just really want usafa. Hopefully appointments will be rolling in this week.

Congrats to all those receiving ROTC scholarships! Even though the board isn't lighting up with appointments yet, it is exciting to hear your wonderful news and share in your joy :smile:

ROTC Scholarship Dates

Congratulations to all who received AFROTC scholarships. :thumb: The original letter my DS got after completing the ROTC application listed 16 March as an expected release date for scholarship announcements. The next scheduled board is 26-30 March, with an expected release date of 13 April. So check the AFROTC website after these dates. For us, the website showed current information before snail mail got to us.
 
When will be the next review board for C/O 2016 be meeting? I updated my academic profile and my AFA counselor said it will be in my file for the next panel review.

I think I read somewhere that the board will meet again next week.

Monday is typically the day the board meets. Decisions are made tuesday nd appointments are sent wednesday.
 
so I still haven't heard from afrotc.. I check the online status everyday and I thought all of them would be sent out by now :(
 
We were relieved when we arrived home (no BFE) but also no TWE! But let me tell you we were nervous going through that whole pile of mail.

DS was awarded a AFROTC scholarship, still don't know what kind - no word/email/phone call/mail on that either. (This was his first board review, he missed the first two). Just knowing this is a huge relief and I feel less "stalkerish" now AND a lot less stressed out.

DS's MOC slot has already been filled by an athlete that was being courted for the last 16 months by USAFA (found this out in press release). So while we remain hopeful, we also remain realistic.

Whatever will we all do once all this "stalking" is over? Will we still be friends? Will we still talk? Will we be lost without each other? (Sorry, trying to add a little humor...) :wink:
