Class of 2016-Mailbox Stalkers Club

I have been holding my breath for weeks!

My DH can't wait for all the attention I am giving to the mailbox and forums to be directed at him. He is dealing with the stress much better than I am. My DS is so involved at school he is hiding his anxiety well. Once everyday he lets it slip how much he wants this. His plan B's have panned out to the extreme..but that is not what he wants...UCSD..Revelle Molecular Biology...UCSB honors Biology..HE wants USAFA so bad it hurts me!
 
Boards meet on Monday, letters starting going out on Wednesday.

As far as how it works, it is the FIFO way ...First In First Out.

Okay, so if mailings go out today, then we should start hearing something on this board by Friday. As we live across the nation, we will start getting anxious then and waiting for Saturday or Monday for something to arrive. I feel like I am anticipating the birth of my DD, not her candidate status!
 
Portal Update

DS's portal updated and his CFT was too low. Plan "B" is now plan "A" and we know which direction to head. :smile: Good Luck to those still waiting and Congratulations to those with appointments. We have some wonderful children, don't we?
 
Traditionally, Thursday through Sat. are Snoopy Mailbox days.

Some will get it on Monday, but the bulk is Friday and Sat. You may live xcountry, but when you get it is more about the USPS.

If it was me I wouldn't be hanging by the mailbox today, Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.
 
Wow, the 2nd poster within days to say the CFA was the problem, in 4 yrs here this is the 1st yr I have read the CFA was the killer.

LY, I think, there was a poster that the AFA allowed the candidate to re-do it 3X.
 
Those who received notice that the CFA was too low... Are you willing to share those scores? Though DS did well compared to the averages but now beginning to wonder if those averages are just not good enough this year!
 
Regarding the CFA, beware it is unique. If you fail one portion, than you fail the CFA.

AFA has to the best of my knowledge never posted avg or base line, just MAX.

Just saying keep this in mind.
 
CFA

I am one to always try to find the positives. So DS doesn't have an update showing CFA too low so that is good. I too have a 215 pound lineman, profsparrow,:thumb: so I know what you mean, (those pull ups are brutal). He had to keep weight for wrestling 220 (needed the spot in the team lineup) now working on dropping, down under 200 and still stalking mailbox.....
 
Pima, the 2011-2012 usafa catalog posted the cfa averages for men and women as well as afass attendees received these #s while doing the mock cfa. Max scores were also given. Minimums were not provides though.

They post average and max but not min.

The Mean scores for the CFA are posted in the handbook and are as follows:

Boys: BB: 69, Pull Up: 12, Shuttle: 8.9, Sit Up: 81, Push Up: 61; Mile: 6:36
Girls: BB 41, Pull Up: 3; Shuttle: 9.7; Sit Up: 78; Pull Up: 41; Mile: 7:35

Max Scores:

Boys: BB 102; Pull Up: 18; Shuttle: 7.8; Sit Up: 95; Pull Up: 75; Mile: 5:20
Girls: BB 66; Pull Up: 7; Shuttle: 8.6; Sit Up: 95; Pull Up: 50; Mile: 5:00

Just info about Recognition, and a few people asking questions. No official statements or anything of note.

But all this talk about the CFA is giving me a heart attack!:eek:
