Thank you, well I guess I'll be using that from now on until I hear something. They should give me an appointment on patience alone!!!:shake::shake:
 
If you have not yet received a QNV letter I would recommend rolling on with your plan B. There is still the chance for the NWP but you don't want to miss any deadlines for housing. I would imagine that the academy would start the NWP last to give the airman and prepsters a fair opportunity for appointment, meaning that it could be mid-April that we hear back. :thumbdown: No news is good news though! :smile:
 
so I was looking at my portal today, it still says candidate, but when I scrolled down to the bottom with all of the boxes and the checkmarks, everything had been marked as "received and processed by USAFA" except for the "request for secondary school transcript," which has just been "received." Maybe they haven't even processed my whole application yet?

just wondering :)

That's OK. Our DS's application says the same thing.

If it says "Complete" then you are in good shape.

They're going out simultaneously with USAFA appointments.

And you are NOT a failure; not even close!
(says the guy that has TWE's from USAFA/USMA/USNA/USCGA/USMMA from 1978)

You're not a failure! This year was a very tough one, and the fact that you made it this far is something to be proud of! Keep your head high, there's always next year :)
 
Thanks guys. Do you know the exact criteria to be competitive for prep school? My ALO said I had a good admissions package, I think I was slightly academically deficient.

Well then, the test begins now. Do you want to go badly enough that you will be willing to dedicate another year (or more) of your life for it? More than 1/3 of appointees do not come directly from high school. Like Pima once said, there are many people in this forum that want an appointment more than anything, but receive a TWE and simply move on to other things with their lives. Do you want to move on or do you want to press for your dream?
 
I know at this point no news is not good news. This being said, could I take the current lack of rejection as a sign that I may still be in the running?

I'd give up a whole lot to have the honor of attending and graduating from USAFA. I'll try until I succeed or I'm too old.
 
still waiting but recognize it's doubtfull. If one receives a TWE, could an offer to USAFA prep school possibly arrive with it ,or could the prep school or falcon opportunity come later in another letter? Not sure what to expect or the possible order of things if warranted.

Last year the Prep offers and Falcon Scholarships came a few weeks after the mass mailings of TWEs. Hang in there, the wait is almost over. Best wishes. :thumb:

EDIT: flieger says "They're going out simultaneously with USAFA appointments." He would know!!!!
