Class of 2016-Mailbox Stalkers Club

Like the eye of the hurricane! Let's hope to hear from LEAD, Falcons, and Prepsters soon. :thumb:

Dad - If anything it will be a light squall on the other side. I think that Insider said the acceptance rate is up around 93%. That is higher than last year, which was also a high water mark for acceptances from what I heard. Here's to rain. :thumb:

Last years yield on offers ended up at about 81% per http://paulryan.house.gov/UploadedFiles/USAFA_2015.pdf

If the 93% that Insider reported holds all the way through that is a huge increase.

Most of the TWEs have gone out. That would explain why it's settled down.

I think you will hear more news next week...

I just returned from the USAFA (day with a cadet) with my son, and there were people attending whose sons and daughters have not yet accepted their appointment. I am going to assume that after the batch of various candidates elects not to accept by Sunday April 15th the academy will then make offers to the next group on their list. I am still hoping and praying that some of you will get some great news! I would rather see the people on this forum who are so clearly 100% commited get the offer of appointment than people who have been accepted but clearly do NOT have their heart in going to the USAFA. I think you need to be 100% in this process, or your chance for success drops dramatically. I am still praying for the GOOD NEWS for you who are still patiently waiting... My prayers are with you all daily-for success wherever you go!

My username is starting to run low...

Any one have any information on how large the waitlist is? I accepted my spot onboard that and I would just like an idea of how many people I'm up against.

wait list

Patience,

On the FB Admissions page a poster yesterday said his ALO told him there were 94 on the wait list. Don't know how true this is, you may want to give your ALO a call to verify.

Good luck on getting a BFE!

Thanks MD.

I'm MD as well actually. Heard that the candidate from my district hasn't accepted yet. Hoping he isn't waiting to make the decision and actually doesn't want it.

There is alot of unknown in the numbers, i.e. appointments offered and not accepted, offered and rescinded, etc.

I know the profile information quite well, but as I stated before, I was told that last year had a much higher rate of acceptances than in prior years and it made it very difficult on the admissions staff. But the point remains valid, acceptance rates are very high, so there simply is not a lot of slack to work with regarding the number of appointments. Best.

I'm really not sure ProudMom...DS has Senatorial and Presidential and is on the wait list. We just have to wait and see what God has planned for him. The Academy is his dream (second time applicant) but he is currently at UMDCP doing AFROTC so he will commission either way

Congratulations to your DS/DD (?) on their appointment!

Oops, I deleted my message, I was afraid it might be discouraging but you saw it anyway. its my son. He visited your son's AFROTC unit. It was his very strong Plan B. He was quite impressed with the detachment there.

We are not discouraged! DS is very happy for those who have received appointments and has been very impressed by the competition. You, along with all the posters on this forum, have every reason to be proud

Wasn't trying to argue.
