Class of 2016-Mailbox Stalkers Club

Congratulations to all the new appointees:thumb:.

We just got back from a quick trip to VMI. DS really liked it and is looking forward to being part of the Rat Mass. He was very upfront with admissions and the AFROTC detachment about reapplying to USAFA next year and both departments were very supportive of his plans. As a matter of fact, at ROTC when they were done with the Q/As with us, they invited the detachment commander, a USAFA grad, to come in. He must have spent 15-20 mins. talking with us. DS had been sold pretty much from the moment we arrived on campus yesterday morning but their support sealed the deal. We know that at VMI is an excellent fit for him. Not only will he get a great academic/military foundation for USAFA his attempt #2 but, if he doesn't get in next year, he will have a great home at VMI.

a hundred bottles of beer on the wall...a hundred bottles of beeeer...

Yes, the Falcon appointments have been released. The MOCs have until Tuesday to notify their nominees, then the offers will appear online. Not all MOCs take the opportunity, however. Counselors are specifically instructed not to release the information before the MOCs, so there is no reason to call USAFA.

Still waitingwaiting here....appreciate knowing the curtain comes up by Tuesday.....am sure there are a bunch of Falcon parents out there who feel the same way.

Congratulations to all prep & falcoln appointees!

It is so wonderful to see the postings of all of those who have been selected for appointments to prep school and to those who have received falcoln appointments.
AWESOME NEWS...CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Our prayers are with you all.
You are all so AMAZING!!!:smile::smile::smile:

Very Proud Mom of an Appointee for Class 2016

Hello Everyone! I'm happy to report that my DS just accepted his appointment online last night! :thumb: He was a Falcon scholar at NWP last fall. He is currently finishing the second semester at Cal State Dominguez Hills. He received his call from our MOC last week, April 26th, around 3pm. He was actually in class when he got the call.:smile:

Anyway, it was almost a year ago to the day when he got the Falcon Scholarship. This has been a great year for DS. NWP was incredible, as other attendees have said. The Durbecks are fantastic at what they do. The setting up in the San Bernardino mountains is ideal for the prep school and physical training for the attendees. It was a blessing to get the Falcon scholarship for DS, he was only 17 when he first got the nomination last year. The semester at NWP and second semester at a local university helped him "grow up" in so many ways. I highly recommend NWP!

Our best to all who are still waiting! :smile:

Falcon

If you have received a Falcon Scholarship and want to go to the Air force Academy sign it now and send it in. My son was a Falcon last year. He went to NWP and says it is the best experience he has ever had. The Durbecks usually have half of the Falcons at NWP. The number of Falcons that they receive should tell you how good the program is. If you would like to talk to me about the Falcon Scholship or NWP email me at jbr@robbinsoil.com and I will be happy to give you my number.

Hey guys, thought I should update you and let you know that I chose AROTC over AFROTC because I feel it's the best option for me. Still planning to reapply, but as for now, I guess I'm an army girl! :biggrin: Excited to start the new journey at college and get started on my app again. Only two weeks left of high school for me! Woo! Hope you all are doing well. :smile:
