What is a conditional appointment? I thought they were all conditional.

Strictly speaking, they are all conditional e.g. successful completion of their spring semester, not getting injured which may lead to a DQ, staying out of trouble, etc......it ain't over til they take that oath on I-Day and slam the doors to Mother B

Not likely, I am afraid. Most of the offers of Appointment for the Class of 2020 are ‘out on the table’. (USAFA just had its big release last week)

FWIW, (reading thru the past years of threads), it looks like the Foundation/NAP offers have been going out for the Class of 2021 + various waiver holds + some of the better USNA Club Sports that have a little pull are getting their requested Class of 2020 recruits. Going forward for this 2020 Appointment thread, we could see 8-15 more listed (being optimistic) as USNA Admissions fills in the rest of the Class of 2020 with slots vacated by the kids that are turning-down offered 2020 Appointments .

I have heard there a couple of MOC picks in Northern OH that have not had any action, but that's just my own antidotal info learned over the weekend.

Sorry, I'm confused. I thought there were still the NWL appointments to be made. Are you implying those are "on the table" already?
 
I found out recently that our MOC's appointee has declined USNA and taken an appointment from USMA. What happens to that slot now? Does it go to another nominee from the same MOC?

Not likely, I am afraid. Most of the offers of Appointment for the Class of 2020 are ‘out on the table’. (USAFA just had its big release last week)

FWIW, (reading thru the past years of threads), it looks like the Foundation/NAP offers have been going out for the Class of 2021 + some of the better USNA Club Sports that have a little pull are getting their requested Class of 2020 recruits. Going forward for this 2020 Appointment thread, we could see 8-15 more listed (being optimistic) as USNA Admissions fills in the rest of the Class of 2020 with slots vacated by the kids that are turning-down offered 2020 Appointments .

I have heard there a couple of MOC picks in Northern OH that have not had any action, but that's just my own antidotal info learned over the weekend.

My understanding is that as the deadline gets closer it's kind of a shuffling game to see what appointments are accepted.

Yup, I'm just a Dad. I read a whole heck of a lot and I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Seriously, I'm no insider. The Data is out there in plain sight.

Look at the numbers, Hoops said it herself, this list represents about 10% of the Offers of Appointments. If the USNA offers out ~1,300 Appointments and approx. 1,191 are accepted, the list at 107 Appointments backs up the statement. Because this Board and its members have intense interest in outcomes, many many offers of Appointment will be accepted by those on the list. I personally know of 5 acceptances not on the list from over a month ago. Many, Many folks on this Board know some too.

Remember there are about 300 Slots in 2020 already accounted for by NAPS//Foundation/Fleet/ROTC which leaves ~890 for MOC's and the rest. Not many of the 300 are on this 2020 Thread list.

That's almost 3 months. We have ~26 days left.

I don't think it is positive for reality to put out that 'There must be another huge batch of decisions coming out in the next few days since we haven't heard much since last Tuesday' . I sure saw a lot of electronic TWE's , instead!

Look, its not that I have no understanding or empathy to what is going on for many folks here; I got my very own hard-copy, TWE from the United States Naval Academy when I was 17. Back then, they had no SA Board, they had no Internet or email. I do know what it feels like.

I would like to point out though that the 10% is almost a complete guess. There is no way for any of us to know that to be true. Also, as the years go by I am guessing this forum gets more and more popular so the amount of people reporting will be higher.
