Interesting. So the section on the AF Form 1786 where the LEAD applicant can choose to be considered for only the Prep School doesn't really mean anything?

Correct. There is no provision to at any point in the application to limit consideration to the PS alone. As a matter of point, why would anyone want to do that anyway? If you can go directly to USAFA why delay a year?

I know many airman have successfully completed the PS, graduated from USAFA, and gone on to serve outstanding careers as officers (yourself included). The PS remains a great opportunity but it is only one of the ways to enter USAFA.

Thank you for your service to date (and to come). As for me, my tenure ends at the end of the month. I am retiring after 40 years of combined federal service.
