DS is having a hard time finding his sports fit as a plebe. He says club soccer is kept on the "down low" They don't encourage or discuss it for the plebes. It is not ever listed as an actual club sport on the website or on the plebes sports information material However, when asked, they will say it exists. Does anyone know what the deal is?

A lot of club sports aren't offered during the summer. Don't worry. When the AC year comes along he will get a better chance to find his place. He will find an upperclass on that team and they will guide him. Don't worry, it's all good. They all find their place.

Is your DS in plebe summer now? Club soccer doesn't seem to get rolling until the brigade reforms - since most of the players are returning midshipmen. The coach is Rich Miranda (former varsity coach), and the players have a good time with him. They all want to be there, they aren't doing 30 hours of soccer a week on top of everything else, and they play well. Your son will be able to find out more about it closer to reform. Perhaps you can pass the coach's name along in a letter and he will be able to track him down when they get email back. Hope this helps.
