I applied last year and was turned down around this time. I am currently attending a smaller junior college with a service academy preparatory program I am enrolled in. Does anyone have any idea if college reapplicants can expect to hear back sooner than the April 15 deadline?

My DS is a college re-app and he received his appointment Jan 27th.. per the thread there have been a few other re-apps that have also received appts. Best of luck to you!

Re App here and we heard Feb 6, but i remember last year there were some college reapps that heard in mid march so there is still time ahead

One of my mid's college re application classmates was accepted 2nd week of March, another was accepted during the 3rd week of March (i.e. next week). We are also in the college re app waiting pool for DS2. Positive vibes to all!

I am a college re app and I have not heard back. I know with the coronavirus hearing back will be slightly delayed. However, since haven’t heard back does that mean I’m still in consideration or they just have not gotten around to sending out TWE’s?

You're in it till you aren't. Most appointments come out in March.

college applicants are reviewed by the board as soon as their package is complete, same as all other applicants. since college transcripts aren't normally available till early-mid january, the result is that college applicants aren't reviewed by the board till late January or Feb.

but, they don't wait till after the Jan 31 deadline to look at college applicants, and they don't consider college apps as a separate category. plenty of college applicants receive appointments before the end of January, though most probably come later

They wait for fall semester college grades to come in, and often that takes until mid-January. I think that's why it seems like they don't look at college applicants until late Jan - ?

once all the required info is received, the record is ready to be reviewed, but that doesn't mean that it will be reviewed right away. it's not 'first in, first out'. some records go to the board very quickly once they are ready, and some will sit for a long time before being reviewed by the board.

in previous years, i've had candidates 100% complete in November, and not get reviewed till March. i've also seen college re-apps submit their transcript around Jan 15, and get an appointment only a few days later.
