I'm planning on majoring in computer security, so I've been checking out this Rapor. It doesn't look as hard-core as C++ or other high-level languages and from what I've turned up the program used to program in Raptor (how ironic...) is somewhat what-you-see-is-what-you-get.
Personally, I'd prefer to learn something like C or C++ (I'm a Linux guy and about 90% of the system is in these languages), but I've seen things like this used as "gateway languages" to learn programming concepts. Raptor may be a teaching tool so we can learn programming theory before practice.
