Wondering how may are waiting for medical waivers. DS got the call on 3/1 offering a conditional appointment to USCGA (official letter is dated 3/5). We were told that average time for waiver process is 4-6 weeks from appointment, sometimes longer and sometimes shorter. It's been a month and still no update. I have heard that they are backed up. Just wondering how many others are in the same boat.

DS was about 7 weeks from the time he got his AMI submitted and DoDMERB status changed to “pending review by CGA.” Yours should be coming up soon I would think. Best of luck!

@Spano5 So now you are waiting on the review by CGA? Any idea how long that part takes? We are still getting our AMI submitted to DoDMERB... so I am just trying to set my expectations

DS was in the review queue for 7 weeks before receiving his waiver. But that doesn’t mean yours will take that long since they’re all isolated events. Best thing you can do is focus on getting that AMI submitted as soon as possible. Confirm receipt with DoDMERB case officer and then have DS send an email to AO and CGA medical letting them know the task is complete. Then wait patiently for his case to be reviewed.Try to anticipate if any additional AMI might be requested and have it ready if asked. I may be wrong on this but I think the cutoff to receive a waiver is 5/15 so there is plenty of time.
