I am in the process of planning a dedication ceremony for my Girl Scout Gold Award. My project advisor wants me to invite elected officials, my U.S. Senators and Rep. Since I plan on applying for their nomination, will inviting them cause a problem? I don't want anyone to think the reason I'm doing this is to have an "edge" of over other applicants. Our reasons for inviting elected officials and community leaders is to raise awareness about and promote the historic cemetery where I'm doing my project. Let me know your thoughts. Thank you.

Respectfully...."
