I've gotten everything together for my trip to Annapolis, but I was confused about a couple things...
It says to bring 4 pairs of athletic shorts, and 2 shorts for academic workshops AND traveling. Are we going to be wearing those same 2 non-athletic shorts over and over? Or will we wear some of our athletic shorts during the day? They say on the list that they will issue us a pair of sweatpants, but it said nothing about shorts. Also, do we need goggles for swimming at all? I think no, but still, I wasn't sure.
Sorry, I don't want to over or underpack and my mom is making me a bit paranoid.

Where is this packing list? There is no indication on the letter I received so Im just packing on what is probably necessary

This is the NASS 2008 packing list:
Appropriate Athletic shorts: 6-8
Socks: 10-12 (I used more by the way :)...)
Undergarments: 10-12
Towels: 2-3
Twin size Bed Linens: 1 (I just brought a blanket and that was more than I needed)
Pillow and Pillowcase: I didn't bring this
Toiletries
Running Shoes: 2
Swim Suits: females required 1 piece
Small fan and travel alarm clock
Combination Lock
However, I did not nor anyone I talked to who attended NASS last year used the shorts. We were given everything (except for undergarments) that we were to wear for the week "skittles" :)
Have fun!
Those who had goggles I think used them but everyone else just opened their eyes when they needed to- which wasn't that long.

Yeah I'm thinking that I will be fine, but it seems like I won't have enough shorts...

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PUTTING THAT UP.

I can't find my list...and I leave tomorrow morning.

You will end up only using the shorts they give you throughout the week. Last year, my squad leader did laundry in the middle of the week for our PT shirts and issued shorts. That way they at least smelled somewhat decent for the rest of the week. Goggles are definitely a good thing to bring with you. Again, my squad leader saved the day and had extras with him for the swimming evolution. Compression shorts might be a good idea also. This last suggestion might seem a little superfluous, but I wore contacts during the session, and they tore. So for those who wear contacts, it might be a good precaution to bring an extra pair. I know that sounds superfluous but better safe than sorry.

Other than that, bring a good attitude, dedication, and the will to work hard and work with others and you'll be all set! :thumb:
