    Quick question here.

If I wear contacts, would I be allowed to use those at the Academy? Or would I need to get glasses instead?

    Thanks!

You must wear glasses during BCT. You will fill out a form in your acceptance package, where you will include a valid prescription, and they will have a pair of BCG's (Birth Control Glasses) waiting for you when you arrive for BCT. After BCT, you will be allowed to wear contacts or your own personal eyeglasses (Within regulations; mean no mirror lenses, funkadelic colors, etc...) if you'd like to. Best of luck. Mike.....

That's kind of what I assumed. I'm just glad that they let cadets have them back after BCT! Those things really are ugly.

That's why they call them "Birth Control Glasses". When you're wearing them, there's no chance at all of someone being attracted to you.

It's best to have your parents mail contacts to you after basic, or wait a couple extra weeks and have them brought on PW. Try to bring as little as possible to I-Day.
