Contracted Cadet to Basic Training

I don't think you are missing anything. The majority of posters here are not able to fathom the intentional path of BCT when they are a contracted cadet.

It's been seven years since I went to basic training and I barely remember it. I get that your peers who attended probably tell stories about it, but that's only because they have absolutely no other experience to discuss. Once you get to the regular Army no one talks about basic training anymore and if you start telling war stories about it as an LT people are going to look at you funny. Attending BCT/AIT and then going back to ROTC doesn't make you prior service. Don't bother with it, you aren't missing anything and no one is going to hold it against it you that you didn't go.
