Sent son off today!!! He called and is very excited. All is well and he can't wait to get started!!! Good luck to all the other mids starting this new adventure.
 
Our son called last night and is also very excited. He only had details for Marine week - it sounds like a blast. Adding my wishes for good luck!
 
We live nearby and our son is there also. We stopped by to drop some stuff off to him last night and there were roving bands of Mids all around the billeting. I asked the gate guard when we came through, jokingly, if he'd seen any Mids around and he said "Many, many, many, many, Ma'am" lol.
 
MY son is also there - heard from him thursday a couple of times then only a short text last night. He THOUGHT he knew his schedule, but last night learned that he will do marine week first - and not until tuesday - guess they are keeping them there and busy during this holiday weekend! Would imagine a great place to be!
I did learn thursday evening that his company had his fellow vmi guys in it - guess they group them by their school units -
My son was looking forward to this and cant wait to hear all about it!

Cortramid east a big success for my son

WOW!!! Cortramid has only one week left. It has been an amazing experience for my son and he is very motivated. In what other college/career can you actually gets hands on experience at the end of your freshman year, to "taste" your future? We/he is blessed. At least he will not be surprised at what happens after commissioning. He is now certain his choice was the right one. GO NAVY!!!!:thumb:
