credit hours

    Does it hurt my chances that I took 22 credit hours this first semester and didn't get a 4.0, or would it have been better to have taken 12 and gotten a 4.0.

    Most midshipmen take at least 18 credits, and no fewer than 15. Taking 21 or 22 credits isn't rare either.

    So it's actually better that you took a more challenging schedule, as long as that schedule included challenging classes (i.e. Chem, Calc, Physics).
