**Cultural Names; Multiple Family Names; Nicknames in DoDMERB**

There are many applicants that have up to 6-10 names. This may be a result of cultural or family lineage.

There are a number of folks that go by their middle or nick name.

There are a number of folks that have their legitimate last name, somewhere in between their other names.

And a myriad of other combinations.

DoDMERB can only effectively respond to the name/email address you use on your Academy or ROTC application. That is not intended to disrespect you in the least. Just the opposite. We (Admissions Offices, DoDMERB, Congressional staff, etc) want to effectively/efficently process your applications and nominations.
