CVW status?

cvw

Mooradian, my DS received a CVW was triple qualified with a nom, yet did not receive an appointment, when we asked out BGO, she said it was a good "sign" that's it. The appointment is the goal.

And as jadler suggests, so is arrogance.

Exactly, what I am talking about is arrogance, not "being happy."
Think. Key. Speak. "First impressions are lasting impressions." A few good phrases one should remember for your naval career. And yes, as a leader (presumably that is what everyone is here for), you should consider how what you say/do could impact/affect others.

You have zero control with how your post might be received beyond communicating factually and humbly.

Agreed, but normally if one is stating facts and shows humility, it normally doesn't leave much room for interpretation.

The caution is right to not over-estimate or misinterpret what it means.

Which is what everyone does anyways....misinterpret.

I'm done discussing this -- just wanted to throw this out there -- let's get the thread back on topic.

Just FYI- The September 20-22 session is already full, I had to sign up for one of the other 3. It would appear that if you received an offer, it is a good idea to "jump on it" as space seems to be filling up quickly. YMMV though.

How many other candidates will be in attendance at each CVW session? Will we interact with them at all?

Another CVW Question

My DS was offered three Campus Visitation Weekend choices and had to put them in his order of preferece. After he submitted that email, he did get a confirmation message that his response had been received, but since that time (two weeks ago), we have not heard anything back from admissions. We're trying to book a room for my husband and myself, as well as secure child care for other two kids, so knowing if he will get his first choice (Oct 11) is important. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get the details?

Many thanks!

givethemwings ... YOUR SON might want to call admissions and ask, as yours is a fair and fairly urgent question, especially if it's a football weekend. Space can be challenging on certain weekends. I forget if Navy's home that weekend.

They can probably give you a very quick answer, probably a matter of looking at his screen. Worth a try. And the backup question if they are unable to accommodate is ... when would be a likely response date that we might hear?

Remember, while one always wants to respect the complexity, timing, and compilation of work to be done in a narrow window of time, these people, like the politicians noted by Clint Eastwood in his RNC ramble, "THEY WORK FOR US." And so it is with the USNA staff.

Make sure your son always calls. Not ma nor pa.

I was only offered the 20-22nd. Anyoje know why that might be?

This was the case with me as well, so I contacted USNA via the e-mail offered on the bottom of their invitation. They then replied with links to the other 3 CVW weekends. Hope this helps.
