CVW what to bring and wear

I understand, however I want to thank the plebe for "dragging me", any specific items or ideas? Thanks again!
 
Just a word of warning. Not everyone has a great time. Unfortunately some plebes aren't the best hosts. My daughter almost changed her mind about going to USNA after her weekend. Explain to them that this may or may not be the best representation of life at the academy. My daughter is almost done with Plebe year and is glad she didn't make a decision based on one weekend. Hopefully all will be great!

Yes, I have heard before that some kids hate their CVW. It would be tough to have a negative experience, but I am sure there are unhappy plebes there. I have already told my DS this. He is staying with a friend so hopefully he will be a good host! thank you for the warning!

Why don't you bring something that's unique to where you are from? We live in south Florida and I was going to have my DS take some Cuban pastries or key lime cookies if I didn't have time.

My DD attended her CVW last month and took a box of Slim Jim's and a canister of caramel chocolates that we purchased from Costco (and some chapstick :)) Her Plebe loved it and there was plenty for the roommates as well. They all thanked her and said that was the first time anyone had ever brought them a gift. They truly appreciated it. It's a nice thank you.
 
My Mom is a pastry chef and chocolatier, so I brought my plebe lemon pound cake, some New Orleans pralines and chocolates- my plebe was super happy!
 
I personally picked up some candy from CVS. Perhaps I should buy some local stuff in Annapolis as well? Thank you all for your suggestions!

I wish I had thought to send a gift to my DS's plebe. One thought for parents: maybe something for which your home state is known.
