I was denied my junior year in high school from all of the summer programs from each academy. I was then denied by all the academies, and didn't receive an NROTC scholarship my senior year in high school. I then got waitlisted to Virginia Tech for the engineering program. At that point in my life I thought I was going to end up in community college. I managed to get off the waitlist at Virginia Tech and into the engineering program, still don't know how... I then joined the corps of cadets and became an NROTC college programer (non-scholarship). I worked hard my first semester got a 3.2 GPA in engineering, volunteered as much as I could, then I reapplied for the 4 year national scholarship, and got it. Now I am waitlisted for the Naval academy. The point is to never give up. When you feel like there is no clear end insight get your hands dirty and work hard, and most importantly don't give up no matter what! You never know what you can achieve!
