Hi so I recently took the cfa a few days ago and haven't gotten word from USMA and I'm getting worried. Theres no check mark showing up on my portal either, still yellow. These are my scores (I'm female btw). Do ya'll think I passed....? My running events obviously weren't the best as you could tell but I have seen others on this forum passing with slower times so I still submitted my scores but now I'm not so sure :/

Throw: 46ft
Pull ups: 4
Shuttle run: 12.1 sec (oops)
Sit ups: 58
Push ups: 41
Mile: 8:43 (oops again)

You already submitted them, so USMA will tell you if you qualified or not. No point really to ask but like you said others have passed with worse times. However, comparing yourself to people having lower stats is not heplful. Good luck.

I think those are good! Especially with the 4 pullups. For my CFA scores (I am also a female) I got a 7-minute mile, 85 crunches, 50 pushups, and an 8-something for the shuttle run (I forget) and 1 pullup. The only thing that might not be the best is the mileage. Because at least or USNA their lower mile times were 8 minutes. But they score all of what you did, so being able to do 4 pull-ups might help your score really increase.

As noted above, people here can speculate and draw comparisons. But it’s all in USMA’s hands now. That’s the only opinion that matters. Rather than fret over anonymous opinions, focus on productive endeavors such as Plan B, C, D… And enjoy senior year. It goes by quickly.

Agree with this. But adding that you need to remain committed to your fitness regimen. Your run scores are poor. In case you did not pass continue to train! Indeed, even if you did pass, you need to keep on training. USMA may give you another chance. And, you could stand some improvement in every event.

Are you still on the varsity track team? Your numbers for the shuttle run and mile run don't seem typical for a track athlete. Just curious, no offense intended. I think you'd pass the CFA even with low running times because running should be the easiest to improve.

My son and I ran into a D1 track athlete that went on to Cornell law. When he told me he was D1 track - I said you don’t look like a runner.

He laughed and said he did shot put.

Track and field.

I don’t know if that is the same for OP.

I was super unfit before hence why I joined for a season to get my mile time to a reasonable time, definitely not and was never an athlete lol I was unable to even run a quarter of a mile before track 😂

ok maybe I should explain the running thing:

I was never an athlete. lol
Some people read my other post where I mentioned I joined track and understandably found my running events off. I joined track for only a season in junior year solely to learn how to even run a mile. Because I certainly couldn't before. I wouldn't be surprised if my original mile time was like 20 minutes. So quite honestly the fact that I am able to even run a mile without stopping is quite a shocker to me myself. Not on track anymore lol that was a one time thing 😂

The service academies expect you to work out regularly, with plenty of running. There are regular, scheduled, graded physical fitness tests, multi-event exams with minimums to pass, which are part of a cadet’s overall grade. This continues to active duty, with scheduled physical fitness tests as part of military performance. It is a culture of physical fitness, and personal physical fitness at a high standard is a big part of military life. If this is not your cup of tea - and that’s okay - and you are not likely to embrace this (are you working out to the level of the CFA running daily?) - this may help you rule out a service academy and the minimum of 5 years of active duty after that. The Army in particular is big on this, as they are primarily a ground force.
