DODMerb Determination - When and how are the academies notified?

It just occurred to me that I am not aware what happens after DODMerb makes a determination. I assume they notify the academy(s). If that happens prior to a completed application review, does it then become part of the admissions team decision tree? Anyone have insight on how this plays out?

Appointments to SAs may only be offered to fully qualified applicants: athletic/CFA; medical/DoDMERB Q or waiver; academic and scholastic/all the other evaluated stuff. Plus a nom, except for USCGA. At some point, the SA will consider the medical qualification.

There are many intersecting and parallel processes working throughout the cycle.

If you haven’t already done so, go to the DoDMERB home page and read everything in the left-side menu, including Contacts. FAQs, workflow, process, etc. No login required.

Thanks Capt. So theoretically, if an applicant had completed DODMerb early on and received a Qualified determination that could serve to strengthen the application if admissions was aware during review? I suppose it could go the other way if the determination was negative as well.

All kinds of variations. Being Q or having a needed waiver certainly gets one qual done.

As I said, parallel and intersecting processes as evaluations are conducted on various parts of the application.
