I will be going for a DoDMERB within a few weeks and a lot lays on this exam. I am currently enlisted in the Army National Guard.

I enlisted with a back surgery on my record. At MEPS the doctors said no waiver was needed and I was immediately cleared for duty. My question is, in comparison to MEPS, what exactly is DodMERB like, process, steps, do you do the "duck walk" and other movements?

Secondly if anyone has any experience with waivers and such, anything would be helpful, greatly appreciated all. Thank you.

Help please, my son just graduated from college and would like to enlist in the National Guard. He is 23 but had back surgery when he was 12 for a bulging disc. He has had no issues and has fully participated in all sports he has no issues. If I may ask, what type of back surgery did you have and do you think my son has a chance? Thank you
