DODMERB Questions

Hey everyone, I just had a quick question about the length of the DODMERB exams.

I have my first exam, the medical exam, next Tuesday at 12:00 PM. My second exam, the optometrist exam, is also on the same day, but at 3:30 PM. So, I was wondering how long the average medical exam is, so that I will not be late for the optometrist exam. I can still cancel one or the other exam, but I would just like to know earlier so I do not have to wait until the 24-hour window to reschedule.

In case it helps, I had no issues with the preliminary medical questionnaire except for having braces, so maybe that will speed up the exam process by a little bit.

I believe they are usually around an hour. Are you getting the hearing test done then as well? That might be another hour or less. I would let them know when you arrive that you have your eye exam at 3:30 so they are aware. As long as they are running somewhat on time, and assuming you don't have many miles to travel, you should have no issues getting the eye exam.

I'm not sure on exactly what the medical entails, but it should be the entire thing so probably yes to the hearing test as well. Both exam locations are in the same city (Philly) and pretty close to each other so travel time should not be an issue.

I don’t know where you live but my DD had to wait a long time to see the dr. (2 hours) and we missed the eye exam and had to drive back another day. The physical exam was probably 1 hour. The eye exam took 10 mins.
