Anyone ever seen their status in the portal switch everything to "Under DoDMERB Review"?

Previously approved waiver now reads "Under DoDMERB Review" including a program to which he was previously denied a waiver.

Curious...

Went through this with DS. Had a waiver for USNA, submitted AMI for USMA and everything went back to under review. After contacting USNA, DS was told they have to review every time something is submitted to verify nothing has changed and then it was changed right back to granted for USNA.

Whew!

Will put the panic attack on hold.

Son submitted requested administrative AMI yesterday at the request of a program.

Your explanation makes sense, thanks for sharing your experience.

Are you referring to the DoDMERB portal? If so, my DS had "under waiver review" forever. One day it changed to "under DoDMERB review" and minutes later, changed to "waiver granted". I think it's when they are working on the file?

Yep.

Seems theytemp change your staus while they evaluate AMI and/or remedial results.

His status is now back to what it was previously.

I am "granted waiver" for AROTC. I just submitted another AMI to DoDMERB, in form of a letter from my doctor.
The purpose is a last shot at NROTC, my top choice to reconsidering me for a waiver after they denied me.
I was thinking...I hope this won't mess up my granted waiver from AROTC.
So status will all go back to under waiver review? How long did it take to show waiver granted again on the one that was already granted?
I am hoping it doesn't turn into another review process and more waiting for my AROTC. Thanks

Unfortunately, your guess is as good as mine.

I know that AMI is shared between programs. Each program ultimately decides what they need for your specific instance.

Magic 8 Ball time unless someone else here can amplify.

There used to be a DoDMERB SME who posted here regularly but those days are long gone.

In my little understanding, if you have got a waiver from one academy or an ROTC scholarship, that file is closed, so other AMI should not matter.

We have submitted many remedials/AMIs for other (USNA/USCGA), while my DSs AROTC waiver was granted, AROTC always stayed on granted status. But as a parent or candidate we are always anxious.

If you don't mind me asking, when was the waiver for CGA requested? We're waiting too and it was in December, AMI was sent/recieved in early January.

For CGA, the AMI/remedial was requested in January, we completed the remedial request and submitted everything to DoDMERB in mid-February, waiver is still in pending status.

Sounds like so many are in the same boat with them, hopefully the start processing through. Can I DM you?

At least you have AMI requested….. just sitting in under review no movement

No worries! At all! Just know you are only one step away. DS has an appt to his #1
His dad and I are waiting for a diff appt. lol
He has a waiver and no appt. yet to USNA,
USCGA is who we are waiting on a waiver for now.

Lol. Thats so funny about the two SA's. Thats a great way to look at it, "only one step away". Sometimes I as Mom need that reminder... We're right there. Our DD applied to a single SA (CGA) and received her conditional appt in December. Now we wait....

That’s how we were with USMMA, LOA in fall and waited until last week!! If this process teaches nothing else, it teaches patience- for all involved, including parents!

It’s my understanding that existing AMI is shared amongst all programs.

This doesn’t mean that a specific program won’t ask for additional information or further consults.

Once medical information is provided, it remains there in your file for all programs to access.
