Has anyone received their appointment PRIOR to seeing a change on DoDMERB?
Once you are disqualified on DoDMERB, the waiver comes from an academy. You are still disqualified (very black and white), BUT an academy can waive that disqualification.
I'm not sure if this answers the question.
She's talking about a change on the ADMISSIONS STATUS line on the DODMERB website.
Sometimes, the DODMERB site will give a candidate their first hint that an appointment may be coming, when the ADMISSIONS STATUS CHANGE DATE field suddenly is updated. It usually means that something that changed in their current admissions status.
Many candidates see a change in that field, and within a few days an appointment shows up.
She is asking is anyone has ever had the appointment show up WITHOUT or PRIOR to that field changing on the DODMERB web site.
Ah, ok, that makes sense. Thank you Luigi.
The pre-acceptance tremor on DODMERB.
Yup...you got it Luigi
Thanks for helping me clarify. No change yet for son....we'll see if anything happens soon.
Have a good one
More like a continuous 6.0 at our house....lol
LOL.. you are so cute..... you always make me giggle
I wonder how many hits DoDMERB gets in a day?? Shoot I think I check atleast twice a day ... LOL
Only Twice JCollins???
I check is wayyy more than that. Wonder if that is why hubby says I should get a job? As if taking care of the house, kids and family life isn't a job.
lol...just kidding. I've got the best husband ever. He just shakes his head when I get in crazy momma mode, worrying about everything that I have exactly ZERO control over. It's what I do best.
Have a good day friend!
My son received his USAFA appointment, in the mail, prior to any sort of status change on DoDMERB, even though we looked for it. There was no change even after that, until yesterday when it indicated "status change" with the 23 FEB date. And, his academy status changed yesterday to "appointment accepted" so the "early warning system" didn't work in his case!
Maybe Mr. Mullen is reading more than just the DoDMERB forums!
It would be nice to see a change, but your scenario gives us reason to keep checking the mail anyway. (starting in March of course....)
My status did not change on DoDMERB before I received my acceptance letter. I was granted a conditional appointment around Thanksgiving since I had not had my DoDMERB exam yet. After doing my physical I received my full appointment which is dated Jan. 14. My DoDMERB account says, "Admission Status Change Date: 23-FEB-2009" which is obviously way after I received my appointment. Good luck to you all!
The admissions information is uploaded to DoDMERB by the service academies. There are times when the information is not sent to DoDMERB in a timely manner, in which case the admissions status will not change on DoDMERB's website until after the candidate receives his/her letter.
In most cases it is pretty timely and a good indicator of whats going on, but there are times when the good old USPS is your best friend.
Given the identical admissions status change date for hopefuls and now those with appointments, I wonder if this is another DoDMERB hiccup, like the 3 February change that many of us saw?
(Not to say I'm not still at the post office every day during lunch hour )
Just to add to what some of you have said, our change on the CGA was on 3 Feb, 2009 and then again 23 Feb.2009.........Hmmmmm. We haven't heard from the CGA but we will let you all know if we do. Sending good luck wishes.....maybe something next week.
CGA - Still shows August date, and 2/19 for waiver denied... BUT I know that my daughter was given a waiver on 2/23, but it is still not updated from "pending waiver submission/review" (Mr. Mullen let me know the waiver was given)
USMMA - Updated right away, when the waiver was denied, when the waiver was given and on 2-19-09 the date her status changed (offered prep appt)
maybe one is just quicker then the other at getting the info updated???
