Hi guys. I have a quick question. Does your intended major in college affect your chance of receiving an ROTC scholarship? I want to do law enforcement when I'm older. What branch would you think I would have the best chance of getting a scholarship? I know it also depends very heavily on your other stats but I'm just wondering if your major can change your chances. Thanks

As for NROTC....yes, the major matters. About 85% of the scholarships go to STEM majors. For Marine Option NROTC, no your major does not matter.

I've found that it depends. 4 years ago, my brother, a Chinese major, got a Type 1 AFROTC scholarship. 2 years ago, myself, an Applied Mathematics major, got a Type 7 AFROTC scholarship.

Some years they like languages, some years they like STEM, some years they don't like anything and give out very few scholarships.

But no matter what they never prefer nontech. Going into law enforcement would involve a degree that is a nontech path.
