I've been turned down by my first Senator and now my Congressman for a nomination. I was shocked that I did not receive one from my Congressman because I did incredibly well in the interview and I was told by my advocate that my application was outstanding. However, I am from the 5th district in MD. The competition here is especially fierce. I honestly believe that I didn't receive one because there were just not enough spaces, not because I wasn't qualified.
My question is, If I don't receive a nomination from my other Senator, what can I do? I am a freshman college student, who is applying for the first time. In my opinion my application will look much better to the admissions board than any nomination source because of updated things like my first semester transcripts and new SAT scores (both great btw).
Is there anything I can do to help my chances of the admissions board "finding me" a nomination?
Is it one thing that they want me to come there and another if they are willing to find me a nomination?
