I know DD can use her own doctor for a urinalysis but she would rather go through concorde. In the letter it says to go to the sight to find the DR. assigned but the only doctor it shows is the one she had her exam with which is an hour away. I don't think they expect her to "hold it" for an hour. I tried calling but I haven't gotten a call back yet so I thought I'd check with you all. Would they maybe assign a lab?

It is possible to get the order reassigned. My DS had his remedial urinalysis done at a different office than his physical. The remedial was done at an occupational medical clinic where as his physical was done at a urgent care clinic. I don't know if concorde contract with labs.

There is no advantage to having the test done at the facility contracted by concorde vs using your own doctor (other that you are responsible for the cost if you choose the facility) As long as you make the arrangements in advance with concorde. Sounds like you need to negotiate with your DD.

I would like DD to use her own dr. but if they have a lab close by then I'll use concorde. Did you DS refrain from any physical activity before hand as they request? That's going to be tough for DD as she's in the middle of basketball season.

We had the appointment on a monday morning and he took it easy over the weekend. So yes he did, and it was difficult with his sports schedule. The xmas holiday period may be an opportunity.

That's would probably be a good idea but that's three weeks away! Do you know why they requested this test for you DS? I'm always curious to know what they find or didn't find that triggers this repeated test.

This is pretty common with SA and ROTC candidates. Most of them are athletes and heavy exercise can end up passing excess proteins in the urine. The DoDMERB instructions, I believe even specify to reduce exercise before the medical exam. Once detected, they need the remedial to re-run the urinalysis.

My DS stopped running for a week before his DoDMERB.

I never asked or found out why DS had a remedial urinalysis. I just assumed it was for high protine. He followed the instructions more diligently for the remedial and was qualified.

Thanks for the great info. I thought this must be common enough with all of these applicants doing sports and such. Hopefully that's all it is.
