I was in the hospital this summer for 2 days for "Dehydration" and "External Rhabdomyolysis" from over exertion after running a 10k. I was given fluids in the hospital and released with no further treatment or limitations put on physical activity. I have been a full time firefighter for the past 2 years and doing school on-line. I have decided to go to school full time and enroll in Army ROTC this upcoming fall. Recently I read that Rhabdomyolysis is a DQ for MEPS/DoDMERB. Does anyone know if this is a case by case situation or a PDQ? Anyone with any information would be great!

1987wh,

My suggestion would be that you forward an e-mail to Mr. Larry Mullen with your posting. His e-mail address is Larry.Mullen@dodmerb.tma.osd.mil. He is the Deputy Director of DoDMERB and he has helped thousands of people with questions such as yours. In short, he is the authority on these matters.

I am sure he can provide the information that you are looking for and his responses are always expedited.

Good luck to you.
