Currently I am gonna be an AS200 in a couple weeks and last semester I failed this terrible math class with an even more terrible of a professor. Long story short he was gone most the time because of a month long vacation, and because of this he had the bright idea of giving us most our exams in the last 2 weeks of school; including our final. Needless to say studying for 5 math exams plus a final in 2 weeks on top of all my other classes led to a failing grade. Got like a 57% or something. My other classes I took for my engineering degree I did alright but math is my worst subject.
On top of this I had to witness through a facebook livestream a good friend of mine who was in the Air National Guard kill himself on Christmas Eve just before that semester started. Also needless to say it left me pretty emotional. I am no stranger to death, I lost all my grandparents and my girlfriends little sister in high school. I came around to creating my own way of dealing with it which is mostly just talking about it with whoever is willing to listen and to play a lot of video games. I am not depressed or suicidal or anything. I just needed time to grieve. Time was something though I couldn't get unfortunately. I take full responsibility for my failure, I just want to fix the whole situation.
My question is what can I expect after failing a class? Is it redeemable, will they take into account my situation or tell me to stop making excuses? My GPA for each semester has stayed above 2.0 and I'm a none contract cadet. My overall cumulative GPA so far is a little over 2.5
