Hello I have a relatively good gpa but a few years ago i took three online classes at my university and simply did not finish them. This subsequently gave me 3 WFs or withdrawal failings which is the same as Fs. I have since brought my gpa up, but am wondering if these old grades will in any way affect my standing in AFROTC. What should I do?

The only way to answer that is to check your official transcript. The university should show your cgpa. That is what AFROTC will look at in your situation. Did you re-take these identical classes? If so, many times they will replace the lower grade with the new grade since it is the identical class, thus the 3F's would not be a part of your cgpa.

It is my understanding that in AFROTC if you receive a poor grade in a class and retake it, they will average the two grades together. So if you get an F the first time, retake it, and get an A AFROTC will average the two even if your school replaces the grade entirely

The OP has stated they took these classes 3 yrs ago, but they have yet to join AFROTC. Failing classes before starting AFROTC.

Did they take them in HS as part of a jump start program? The reason why is although they take the class at the college it goes to their hs transcript since they were a hs student, not a college student. AFROTC would never see it, nor would the college place it into their cgpa, at least that is how jump starts work in our county in VA, and how it worked in the county we lived in NC back in 07/08.

The 2nd issue is he took these classes 3 yrs ago, but has yet to start AFROTC. That means they are not eligible for SFT this yr. placing him as a C100 at the earliest spring semester.

This would mean these grades would be 4 yrs old come next yr for SFT. He would have more than enough time in the worst case scenario of avg., to get him competitive for SFT next yr.
