For anyone with experience as a Falcon Scholar, when did you all hear about an appointment to USAFA? Was it the March announcement period? Earlier? Later? Have any Falcon Scholars heard the outcome yet this year? Did you all typically receive an appointment? If not, what held you out? What was your next step if you didn't get an appointment?

We've been nervous about this path since we suddenly learned about it just short of a year ago. We'll be happy when we know it pays off - everything looks to be in order and then some. We're grateful for the opportunity. But we're ready to know. Thank you.

My DD was a NWP Falcon. Received her appointment in February. If you look back at the self-generated lists of appointments from 2021-2023, you may spot a batch of Falcons posting around that timeframe. The Falcon Foundation website also has the data on appointments received for each class, which hopefully gives you some confidence in the outcome. Good luck!

Thank you, Cider42. Looking back at what you suggested and last year's outcomes, the notifications followed President's Day, that would put this year on February 20th. We'll make that our first realistic date to look for. Acceptance rates look to be around 95% on average according to the Falcon Foundation site. It all looks good, and we feel confident. We'll feel better when it's finalized. I'm sure you know that feeling. :) Thank you for the response.

One other thing to keep in mind too. Admissions typically gives the nominating member of Congress an opportunity to call the appointee and offer congrats a few days before the letter posts in the portal. Word to the wise, answer every phone call regardless of the number. My DD got a call from one of our senators from their personal unlisted number and didn't pick up...fortunately the senator was kind enough to leave their number so she could promptly call back! We weren't expecting that call because our Representative had already called her a few days earlier. Good luck and PM me if you need anything.

Thanks Cider42! That would be wonderful if that happens. My son has 3 nominations. Even if one calls with the early heads up, it would be wonderful. Thank you again.
