Where is the best seat for the PW football game? Where are the cadets seated at and how is the seating close to the field. We are looking at L22, 23 or 24 maybe first 10 rows.

Cadets are seated in section L17 - L21. That's why they are grayed out and you can't buy tickets in those sections.

"BEST" seats is a relative term. Obviously, L22 is the "Best" if you want to WATCH the game. It's the 50 yard line. Hence, the most expensive tickets. (Which is still cheap compared to ALL other D1 football stadiums).

"Best" as in closest to your son/daughter, that's hard to say. If your son/daughter decides to sit in L17, then the CHEAP SEATS (L-16) near the goal line is the best.

You pretty much need to decide straight up. 1) Do you want to spend 3 hours watching the falcons play football; or 2) Do you want to spend 3 hours watching the cadets. Personally; if you can get L22 tickets. (Those are my season tickets every year), then you'll have the best seat in the house and you'll get to see a great game; all the cadets; all the pageantry; etc... Whatever you do..... DO NOT GET THE FIRST 10 ROWS!!!! Those are terrible seats. It's much more enjoyable to look slightly DOWN on the game. Plus, you get a better experience during the march on, parachuting, fly by (If they have it), and a great view of the cadets. Try to get a row higher in the alphabet. e.g. R, S, T, U, V, etc... I was in row "Y" and it was the perfect seat.

The "best" seat in some games (like Navy last year), is the one in the sun. Other games, being in the sun is a bad idea - crazy Colo Springs weather. So game time also comes into play. Last season I got sunburned one game and a few weeks later froze.

Overall, I like the east side (cadet side) - more fun.

what about the this particular game at this particular time of the year? Need sunblock, hats, shorts, etc or do we need a jacket/sweats/pants?? Thanks again. yes we are looking at the cadet side.

can anyone just go over what happens at that game? the cadets march etc, halftime, then after?? just want to coordinate with my kid so we dont spend the next hour looking for each other.

For what its worth, he most likely will not be allowed to sit with y'all. Cadets are required to sit in our area, and there is PP around to ensure that it happens.

Cadets are not allowed to sit with family. Last year they got in trouble if they were caught. You can meet under the stands or in the concession area. The weather is who knows. I have been there when it is beautiful, 2 years ago it was freezing on PW. The best thing to do is to dress for colder weather and be able to peel off as needed. I have been to games where it starts out beautiful, then it rains, the wind picks up, the temp goes down, it snows etc. all in the span of a few hours.

oh gosh, that's how wild colorado weather is??? i guess i'm not used to that yet. thanks for the advice. we figured the cadets wont be allowed to sit with parents but at the same time, we dont want to be on the opposite side of the field and be hunting for each other.

As a dedicated football fan of the World's Greatest Team, Ever, I always recommend, especially for PW, that parents buy the $5 and sit in peanut heaven.

USAFA ALWAYS wins, and there are some people who actually read the newspaper during the game.

    $5. worth every penny.

I couldn't agree with you more. They always play a team they will beat badly. It is worth the $ 5 but not much more. Good call on that.

I can sort of agree with the $5 method...... Sort of. Meaning; for a lot of parents/family members coming to parent's weekend, this may be their one any only time to come to the academy. Along with coming to a game. Watching the march on, wings of blue parachuting. Half time. Being next to a very excited cadet wing. (They are always excited the first game; especially compared to the november games that are in single digit temps). Anyway; the experience is something else.

I've obviously been to the academy a couple of times in my life. (Sarcasm). And I never get tired of going to a game and the atmosphere around the cadets and the festivities. I think for many, who may never come back again; (Except possibly for graduation); getting good seets next to the cadets in the L22 area; give or take a section; is an experience that shouldn't be overlooked. Just my $0.29485849309. (Inflation).
