I emailed by FFR and haven't gotten a response from him. Am I supposed to get a response and what do they mean by "contact your FFR"? Thank you very much.

Basically just email him or call - if no response by email, I suggest a call at an appropriate time. Are you c/o 2020 and need the interview? If so, not having the interview won't count against you.

Introduce yourself, explain your desires, and then ask for their experiences and advice. He will probably ask you about test scores, extracurriculars, leadership, etc. to help you prepare your application.

    Dear _____,

I am a candidate for the USMA class of 2021, and was given your name as my FFR. I wanted to touch base with you regarding my application, and solicit any advise you may have for me at this stage of the process.

My application overview is as follows. I currently rank __ in my class academically, with a GPA of ___. I took the ACT/SAT __times, and my high scores are M__, E__, S__, and R__, but I will be testing again several times. I have earned __ varsity letters in the following sports; _____, and will captain the ____ team. My leadership roles at school include _____.

Currently I am training for the CFA. Any advise you have for me there would be appreciated.

It is my understanding that you will interview me at some point. I am eager to meet you any time at your convenience. I am also available by phone. My personal cell phone number is ______. I would like to forward you my resume, which provides a more detailed description of my accomplishments.

I look forward to your assistance and advise.

    Sincerely,
    ________

    How's that?

Also, don't be surprised if he doesn't get back to you very quickly. They often are working with candidates for this year, which take priority - especially with deadlines looming. Additionally, I got in touch with my FFR in March of last year, he basically said "Great, talk to me again when you're done with 50% of your application so I know you're serious."
