First wave of BFE's?

In "Your application overview" it has a big blue sidebar on the left with OFFERED APPOINTMENT at the top. And a bunch of documents underneath.

I know that it depends on the RC whether to tell candidates are 3q. Has anyone from the northeast or told by Captain Derda they are fully qualified?

We have Derda and were told (via portal) that our son was 3Q Dec. 11. Got our nomination last Monday (Jan 25), now waiting to see if we get an appt..

I am from the northeast. Got my 3Q letter on my portal in October, appointment came last week!

Accepted my appointment last night on the portal (still waiting on the BFE)! Does anyone know how to tell which nom you were admitted through? I have a few and am curious which one I was appointed with. Thanks!

Look at your nominations and it will say the state abbreviation along with a number ...
For example NJ05 means New Jersey district 5 congressman

If the numbers are 61 or 62 it means it came from the senator .. Hope that helps

But not sure how you can tell which one was responsible for the appointment

Yeah that's what I'm curious about; I have a Presidential, Son of Disabled Veteran, and Virginia-10 nomination. Unclear on which one I got in with.

You won't know for sure until you graduate. I believe it shows up on the transcript or some other document.

The only way you could know before that with relative certainty was if you had received only one nomination.

Even if you had received a call from the MOC and had a Presidential, the call doesn't mean you were charged to the MOC's vacancy. It's just a courtesy that they extend to the MOC since the MOC did nominate you.

An example - my nephew in Iowa received noms from his rep and both Senators. He was called by all three when his USNA appointment came through. Who knows to whose vacancy he will be charged? I think I read that they finalize that over the summer before some report has to be submitted to Congress

Got it, either way it's relatively unimportant. All that matters is that I'm going to West Point and will begin my career in the Army!

My guess is that you got your appointment from the Son of a Disabled Veteran nom. There are 65 slots for that nom total (not yearly) and there are not many who apply under that nom and are 3Q'd.
If you are qualified to receive that nom and are 3Q'd - then it is highly likely that you will get an appointment.
Congrats!

For those curious about what nom they received their appointment from - Sledge is right - you probably can't find out until you graduate.

If you are a grad - your nom is listed as part of your biographical information in 'The Register of Graduates and Former Cadets'. I bought the 2015 edition and it is fascinating. If you love West Point history, buy one! It is much more than just a list of names of those in the Long Grey Line.
They only put these out every few years. The last one prior to 2015 was 2010. It is a little pricey ($105) - but well worth it. Every graduate is listed since the first class. It is kind of cool to see your or your child's name listed in the same book as McArthur, Patton, Eisenhower, Grant, Lee, etc.
I highly recommend it!
