1st question: Im applying to class of 2012, i have had everything in and have been scholastically approved. Wondering if I could do another CFA? I did mine all the way back in october. Ive lost some weight since then and thus have gotten into a lot better shape. I weighed 205 when i took the test, now im about 188ish. I feel athleticism is one of my strengths so Im wondering if doing another CFA would make my profile any more competetive? or would it be taking the wrong step?

2nd question: when I log onto my candidate profile it says something along the lines of me needing to add "Candidate Academic Information." What is this?

3rd question: how bad will a single C or a single D (only one or the other) in an AP class look to the final board that is reviewing my profile? I raised scores in the majority of my other classes a lot, but will the poor grade in one class destroy my competiveness :unhappy: Im begginning to sweat really hard right now. I hear from USNA in most Likely the next 4-6 weeks and my heart is always racing at the single thought of it since my nom from a senator, you could say im litterally begginning to pull my hair out. Can anyone tell me why its taking so long?
Finally, how does the academy view extracuricular fraternities (ex: freemasonry)?
Also, sorry for the edit, But I haven't recieved word about being medically physically of medically. I got a 6:45 in mile, 10 pullups, 9.0 shuffle, 85 pushups, 85 situps, 60ish BB throw. Is it a pass? Also to be medically qualified, is it just passing DODMERB (cause I did pass that). Or is there something else required?

any input is gladly welcomed (sorry for the length),
    mike

As long as you are medically qualified by DoDMERB that is it for the medical portion.

You need to be selected for Marine Corps ground coming out of the Academy first. After completion of TBS, and if you are good enough...you may be able to try out for a Recon spot. If not, go infantry and you can try again later.

    • You can only submit your CFA once (unless asked by them to do it again). Relax, your CFA scores are fine.

    • This was recently added for all candidates, it's something your school needs to submit.

    • C's and D's don't help. They could indicate that either the class is over your head or you are not applying yourself.

    • There are thousands of applications to review, the majority of appointments don't come out until March.

    • Extracurricular "fraternities" have no more weight than other EC's - leadership positions are what they are looking for, not simply participation.

USNA CICS has an update dated 11FEB08. It reads:

    11-FEB-2008 New Required Document

The Candidate Information System (CIS) now lists "Candidate Academic Information" as a required document. The Candidate Academic Information document is filled out by your guidance counselor. If your required documents section indicates "not received", this WILL NOT affect your offer status. Also, this WILL NOT prevent your record from being reviewed by the admissions board. For those candidates who reapply for next year's class, this document WILL be required for your application to be reviewed by the admissions board.

If you feel that, due to your weight loss, you can do substantially better on the CFA, call the CGO. The board gives extra points for outstanding performance. If the CGO feels that you need this extra boost, they will probably go along with your request. Their simple "It's not necessary" does not necessarily imply outstanding performance but that your package does not require the boost. A sub 6:00 mile, 15+ pullups, and maxing the situps, I would consider significant.

The Candidate Academic Information was something that was added prematurely for the Class of 2013. It is not necessary to complete it. This should have popped up on your CIS yesterday:

Luigi59, your info is off just a little. If you call your CGO and request to submit another CFA they will turn the link back on so you can add an e-mail address then they will e-mail your coach another link.

I know this because my daughter was able to resubmit.

As USNA69 correctly stated, you may submit a new CFA. I think the deadline is March 1. The key is whether you can substantially improve your scores. Yours look pretty strong to begin with, so I wouldn't worry about resubmitting unless, as 69 says, you can improve your mile to 6:00 or better.

Depends on the classs and depends on your overall packet. No way to answer this one -- sorry.

Most candidates don't hear until March or early April.

More or less like any other ECA. What have you done in the organization to demonstrate leadership. How long have you been a member? What other ECAs have you done? There is no one answer.

    Luv,

I'll not answer your specific questions, as there are others present with far more accurate data than I can offer you, but I will say this:

Don't apologize for asking questions. That's what we're here for.
