I'm going to be brutally honest. Don't come to The Citadel "expecting" anything. It's not for everyone. It's not USMA, it's not VMI, it's nothing but The Citadel. It has its own culture. You're a knob, get used to things not being your way. I'm only telling you this because you've chosen the road less traveled. If you make it through hell week, you will understand that your decision for The Citadel has landed you in a place like no other. Traditions, customs, and duties that are not carried out anywhere else. These upperclassmen WILL become your role models, because they are Citadel CADETS. They've earned their place in the Corps, whereas you have done nothing. Do yourself a favor and avoid trying to size up, analyze, or criticize upperclassmen. The best training you can give yourself right now is PTing and learning to drop the attitude, keep your mouth shut, and follow instructions. If you don't like that, I suggest you seriously not come. It will be a waste of your time, your parents, etc. Other than that, enjoy what's left of your summer.
