Since I can only speculate on what the actual question is, I will just throw some thoughts out there.
- Larry Mullen recently left us with the way to contact DODMERB directly. I am sure it's on a sticky somewhere here. Going to the official source for DODMERB questions is always best. I'm in a rush this AM so did not go find the link for you.
- I am fairly sure the standard of care, whether military or civilian, for gynecological exams of any kind, or when the body is significantly unclothed, that if the physician or provider is male, a female "standby" is either mandated or easily available. The standby is in the room to be a silent witness and can be any variety of healthcare provider. During your military career, you will see healthcare providers of both sexes, whether gyn-related or not, and professionalism is the norm. kp2001, one of our resident forum docs, is no doubt better equipped to comment. I'm just speaking as a recipient of military medical care. I expect it's the same in civilian practice too.
