During the application process, I've been looking at the different majors that the Academy offers, and Foreign Area Studies definitely seems like a fascinating major! Can anyone offer any insight into this? What are the language requirements like? Is there any opportunity to study abroad?

    Thank you!

That is my son's major. He loves it. I went to classes with him on parent's weekend and his major classes were fascinating. One of his professors has lived all over the middle east and had first hand experience to the topic discussed in that class. My son has taken Spanish in HS and thru his time at USAFA. Last summer he went to Panama for language immersion, he has been to Spain, and also to Kuwait. I don't think he would trade his experiences in that major for a different major.

I am just giving you what I have observed and my own perception.
