Does anyone happen to know if it would add any value to DS application if he were to indicate that he is part of the Gifted Program, or will the honors, AP, & college classes showing on his transcripts be sufficient?

JMPO. I don't think it makes any difference, but if there is a logical spot on the application to mention it, I would do so. This isn't the time to be bashful.

As kinnem says, if there is a place list it. My son was told "it is not up to you to determine what is and is not important. We will do that, so tell us everything". Some things just come across wrong so keep that in mind but in general if you did it or were selected for it then list it.
