NJ gas rationing

Pima -- Bullet should know that they're starting gas rationing in the northern counties. Even/Odd fill ups on even/odd days based on the last number in your plate. If no numbers on the plate, it's considered odd.

Welcome back to the 70's!

(Has anyone considered pumping gas out of the tanks of the boats deposited in the front yards?)

I saw the gas rationing on the news, and it appears Monmouth county is one of them. Bullet plans on fueling up in DE right before he goes over the bridge into NJ.

Pima

Best Wishes for Bullet and the old folks, He should look to gas up away from the shore near the Delaware. Wishes for a safe trip for him.

Big improvement today - many crews in town. Have power and cable now. Most of our town's power restored. Those Missouri boys and girls, I think it is the Ameran Utility are kicking butt. One gas station out of 7 has been open. three hour line. I think we turned a corner and the gas situation will be better in two or three days.

Friends in Momonth County along the coast really struggling. Their utility JCP&L has been very negligent.

Sad note RP, is losing the struggle with life. Had a bad fall and is not doing well.

FWIW, My SIL is in NYC for work and she can't get back to NJ. Bullet's aunts and uncles are in their 80's too, so they are no help...hence why he is going tomorrow to carry the burden. We don't know if he will be back on Tuesday (planned) because he might not be able to get gas for the car to come home. It is @210 miles each way.

The gas problem is primarily related to the power outages. Bullet will be fine if he simply tanks up a bit farther south in NJ. Outside the immediate shore area, most power is back.

I have friends who made the trek to "rescue family" and bring them back to central Pa.. They took 2 gas cans full with them so they could get back.. Just a thought.

I just returned home from NJ after getting my parents squared away on the Jersey Shore. The town next to their's was completely wasted last week (there is talk about leveling the entire town because all structures appear to be condemned). Thankfully, my parents are okay. They are still without power after 9 days, but I hooked their furnace up to a generator and they have heat and plenty of fuel. Hee hee. Gas stations are starting to come online again, but I had to go to West Point the other day to get fuel because I had the wrong license plate number (West Point has rationing of 10 gallons per customer, but the Shell station outside of Thayer gate has no such restriction).

Pima, I have been MIA for a while, but I really hope your family is okay.

Pima, just wondering how the excursion to NJ went, and if everyone is ok?

Hope Bullet made it OK. We just made contact with relatives in NJ yesterday for the first time. It is a mess.
