Guess this place ! (Post your photos)

ロシア語、約2+レベル。 日本語、ごくわずか。
(and that took a dusty Japanese language book and an online translation assist)
僕も、日本語ごくわずかです。小さい選考は日本語ですけど、(if that makes sense) 3 contact hours per week leads to a very limited vocabulary and minimal kanji reading/writing ability. I try to stick to textbooks or dictionaries for vocabulary, but often have to use the google machine when I run into unfamiliar grammar structures.

@dav1y If you can fit it in your schedule the Japanese minor here is a ton of fun! If you're willing to do some self study plebe year your knowledge of hiragana (and presumably katakana) may enable you to validate the 100 level courses.

Easy one.

I'm definitely considering taking a language minor, although I've heard that picking up a completely new language can be quite the challenge, especially as a plebe. I was considering taking Chinese since I've been taking it for ~12 years now (which would mean I should probably be able to validate a few courses) but on the other hand, I'm also basically fluent at this point so I'm not sure how much it would help me to continue taking Chinese. I would definitely love to take Japanese though!

Daughter majored in Chinese at USNA and did a semester in China while at USNA and studied in China during High School. Don't think they have a Japanese major.

At the risk of throwing this thread into anarchic chaos again by posting out of turn, here I go.

Dang, okay, next option Bryce Canyon, UT. Then I'm out.

No. I’ll add a couple more photos that may or may not help. It’s a well known hike that now requires a permit.

Close. Right park different location. I’ll give it to you. This is part of the Zion National Park valley floor taken part way up the Angels Landing hike.
Great park, amazing hike. Now you have to reserve your spot to hike it.

I just saw that. Sounds like it was a Covid precaution that stayed around. Not a bad idea. parts of the trail were pretty packed. Most people were pretty courteous when there was only room for one at a time, but there were a few others......
